Friday Animation: Slow Bistro

By: Kon

This week's Friday Animation features Ivan Maximov's 'Slow Bistro'.This film is a very sophisticated cartoon with a nice musical score. The illustrations remind me of Tomi Ungerer a lot, the French illustrator. A bunch of strange characters go to a bistro to dine out and Ivan Maximov cleverly interpreted all the characteristical features of such a get together in this film.

Friday Animation: The Colour Keeper

By: Kon

In this weeks Friday animation we bring you a short stop-motion animation called The Colour Keeper. It's the sad story of a guy who's hands are too big for him to become an artist. A little melodramatic perhaps, but nicely animated and a fitting soundtrack. I love the noises the little balls of colour make :)

Friday Animation: Run Germ, Run

By: Kon

One of my worst nightmares is my teeth falling out. Luckily this hasn't happened so far, but that dream sucks... Don't know if any of you share this experience, but this morning's search for our weekly animation made me think of this ;)
This cute little film was produced by the Vancouver film school, and I think they teach their students well, don't you agree?

By: Kon

Featured today as part of our weekly 'Friday Animation' series is this animation by Eugen Erhan about a cut-out paper man loosing himself in a surreal building on his way to a paper woman. Simply but well animated and based on the optical illusions of M.C Escher.

Friday Animation: Post-its

By: Kon

I am really happy to have stumbled over this cool little animation for today:

18 Russian artists have animated their drawings on post-its for this communal project and put it all together for a very enjoyable, well animated music video. Sometimes the paper stands alone, at other times the drawings are cleverly mounted into their surroundings...all in all a cool piece of work. I like the music too :)
