New T-Shirt in Store - Little Old Men by Little Old Men

By: Allmightys Team

To celebrate 6 months of Allmightys Launch we have asked Andy Martin to ask his little old men if they would like to visit Allmightys tee. After very long quarrels and screaming they finally agreed. Then they packed all their bags, organised their workforce and after months of hard work they are finally here. Tell them what you think!

Little about them:
The little old men come in many different shapes and sizes, they are mischievous, adventurous, grumpy, excitable and kinda smelly. No two are the same but most hold the same values, mostly to squeeze the last bit of fun out of life. Read more here.

FESPA in Berlin

By: Kon

The FESPA (fair for digital and screenprinting) was here in Berlin last week and I went to see it to find out what's going on in this business.

It was really amazing: fully automated screen printing machines that print 18 colours and 20 Shirts at a time, scented prints, embroideries...you name it, they had it!

I still think the hand-printed shirts have the better quality going for them, so we're going to stick with that ;)

I also cought up with the guys from American Apparel, who also had a stand there...

It was fun checking out the new garments they had available to get an idea what we could be doing in the future :)

"Da Zi Ran" at the printers

By: Allmightys team

I went down to see how "Da Zi Ran" by Chua Kim Meng was printed yesterday. It's looking really cool and will be in the store on the weekend. Louis is the guy printing it...he's a real pro and has been screen printing in Berlin and Uruguay for years. He's got quite a reputation over here :)

We are working with him as well as our other printers from now on. All the "Mother Nature" designs were split between these two as 10 prints do take up a lot of time to do...

But I think they were worth the wait: on the weekend we will have all 10 Designs up and running in the store!

Remember: if you have bought a shirt already, you can be our "supermodel" for the store. We're looking forward to see you wearing Allmightys :)

Pigs at the printers

By: Allmightys Team

We want to show you where the shirts are printed:

We use a cool screenprinter in Berlin-Kreuzberg. It's run by a bunch of fun blokes who are really good at what they are doing.
I am very happy with the shirts they did for the first competition... wait and see :)

Here are some images, so you know where (and how) it's happening...(the screen they are working on is that for 'pigs against racism')

Something about the technique:

A screen is made of a piece of porous, finely woven fabric (originally silk, but typically made of polyester or nylon since the 1940s) stretched over an aluminum frame. Areas of the screen are blocked off with a non-permeable material—a stencil—which is a positive of the image to be printed; that is, the open spaces are where the ink will appear.

The screen is placed on top of a piece of dry paper or fabric. Ink is placed on top of the screen, and a squeegee (rubber blade) is used to push the ink evenly into the screen openings and onto the substrate. The ink passes through the open spaces in the screen onto the paper or fabric below; the screen is lifted away and then the squeegee is pushed back across the screen, with the screen lifted, "flooding" the ink into the screen. The screen can be re-used after cleaning. If more than one color is being printed on the same surface, the ink is allowed to dry and then the process is repeated with another screen and different color of ink.
