Fantastic panoramas ...Here is one of Sydney

Here are some from Apolo 11-17 spacecraft landings.

I just love the way it just takes up your whole screen and off you go. I wonder what this looks like on a 32in screen!

At panoramas.dk you can see interactive 360 degree panoramas, also called
VR Photography, by some of the best VR Photographers in the world. They are presented in Fullscreen and you need Quicktime

New panoramas are presented weekly. Scroll down for the last features. The Archive contains more than 300 panoramas from all the world.

Installing Windows Vista

By: Filip

This is just for fun. Its not that we dont like Windows, we do, but I am especially a fan of any underdog, in this instance Mac OSX. I do run windows sometimes on my Mac Book Pro but recently i have been thinking of upgrading my Boot Camp windows XP to Vista. I do worry that i am gonna loose all the little i have by installing vista and i can just imagine what it could be like for people who really rely on XP.

So, what is your experience of Vista? ... Have you tried it?...How did the installation go?
Luckily for us Mac users and because the hardware is the same across the board we are kind of guaranteed that the drivers will work, or not... its simple. I can just imagine what a nightmare it might be for someone who put a PC together themselves.

Maybe like this?...Check out this link...very funny!

Colour of my sound

By: kon

Have a look at this interesting little feature. When listening to music, did you ever think of what colour that song would be? Well, here's the place to find out...

"Synaesthesia is the mixing of the senses. Those affected by it hear colors, see sounds, and taste tactile sensations. When the two senses involved are sound and color, this phenomenon is no longer limited to synaesthetes: anyone, given a sound and time for contemplation, can ascribe color to that sound.
Often, these connections between sound and color will overlap from person to person. Color Of My Sound is an informal experiment to test that hypothesis. First, choose a sound category. Then, after listening, choose the color to which you are most strongly drawn. Give us your thoughts. Then, you can see how others voted for that particular sound."

Have a go here...

You can also upload your own tunes and see what colour other people associate with it. Sweet!

The Database of Virtual Art

By: Filip

Just came across this site. You could spend the whole day just going through the entries. A must see...

The Database of Virtual Art documents the rapidly evolving field of digital installation art. This complex, research-oriented overview of immersive, interactive, telematic and genetic art has been developed in cooperation with established media artists, researchers and institutions. The web-based, cost-free instrument - appropriate to the needs of process art - allows individuals to post material themselves. Compiling video documentation, technical data, interfaces, displays, and literature offers a unique answer to the needs of the field. All works can be linked with exhibiting institutions, events and bibliographical references. Over time the richly interlinked data will also serve as a predecessor for the crucial systematic preservation of this art.

Poor boy Apple Dot Mac alternatives

By: Filip

If you have been looking for ways to apple's great .mac service, here are few pointers. Its not a truly integrated solution like .mac but look on the bright side; you get a lot more options and greater flexibility with these.
also, nothing can really beat flickr for sharing photos.

Perfect Spatial Interfaces

By: Filip

Ian Borden would argue that a car has the most advanced spatial interface around. Developed over the years with all the most advanced gadgetry available to the public, there are no similar spatial environments that are designed to such extreme complexity to conform to our bodies.
This is another example of such interface:
The Airstream have been building caravans for 75 years and they have always been above the rest. The new Airstream’s Bambi (75th anniversary) is absolutely wonderful. It goes beyond just fitting desirable utilities but they are designed in a way to create a truly enjoyable environment. Must check out ...

Electric Sheep Screensaver

By: Filip

Very nice screensaver (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc..):

Electric Sheep is a free, open source screen saver run by thousands of people all over the world. It can be installed on any ordinary PC or Mac. When these computers "sleep", the screen saver comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as "sheep". The result is a collective "android dream", an homage to Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

After years of speculation, apple phone is finally out! I am not sure there is much to say about this apart from Gimme, Gimme, Gimme :)

Unfortunately, us Europeans will have to wait till Q4 this year to get it.
